I’m a travel agent!

I wanted to let you know that I am a travel agent now, so I can help with any trips you want to take, not just to Europe.  I can help you decide where to go, and get you great deals on hotels, cruises, and vacation packages.  And let me tell you- there are some [...]

Clifftop Towns

I just came across a really cool article about Clifftop Towns and was really excited to see that I had been to one of them!  I went to Manarola, Italy this last summer, and the picture above is one I took.  Looks a lot like the picture in the article, minus the fancy lighting doesn’t [...]

Get Your Walk Score

I just came across a great website.  It is called Walk Score.  If you enter an address, it tells you how walkable the area is.  It tells you what and how far away the closest grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, cinemas, parks, libraries, bookstores, and other places are.  It also gives the location a [...]

Top Ten Destinations for Independent Travelers in 2009

BootsnAll is a great travel website that I frequently reference when I am planning a trip.  The message boards are really helpful, and anytime I have asked a question I have gotten great answers back.
They also write some great travel related articles.  I am always thinking of new places I would like to visit, and [...]

Great time to visit Europe!

Good news travelers- the pound is shrinking!  And even better news- the Euro is as well.  Exchange rates have dropped a lot since the highs they reached last summer (when I was visiting of course!)
1 Euro is now worth $1.26 and 1 British Pound is now worth $1.58.
Virgin Atlantic has a great fare sale right [...]

-Get cash from ATM’s instead of currency exchange desks
-Get large amounts of cash out of the ATM at a time since you will be charged a fee for every withdrawal.
-Use cash instead of a [...]

Oktoberfest!

Can’t make it to Oktoberfest in Germany this year?  No reason to get your lederhosen in a bunch- find a local Oktoberfest event!  In Southern California there are Oktoberfest parties going on in Torrance, Montrose, Huntington Beach and Big Bear.  Raise your beer stein and say “Prost!”, which is cheers in German!

British Airways flights on sale!

The time is right to book a flight to London!  British Airways is currently offering flights to London for as low as $236 each way from New York, or $349 each way from Los Angeles.  They are also throwing in two free nights in select hotels.  This sale ends October 2nd so act soon!

TOPSHOP

My favorite store in London now has a US website!  Topshop has such fun clothes, shoes and most of all, accessories.  Although I have to say that there are a couple things I am disappointed with.  First- shipping costs $15!  WOW.  Second- everything seems to be more expensive than in London.  But everything is still [...]

Frequent Flier Points

I just came across a great site that I wanted to share.  Let’s face it- frequent flier programs are a pain.  But free flights make it all worth it!  If you travel often, but always just buy the the flight with the lowest price, chances are your frequent flier points are spread out between multiple [...]
